The town of Westfield, Indiana, with a population of about 10,000, is 30 minutes north of Indianapolis along Highway 31--far enough from the city to maintain a small-town feel, but close enough to commute or for easy access to Indianapolis' many attractions.
Westfield, founded in the 1830s by Quakers from North Carolina, offers diverse neighborhoods, a business-friendly environment, plenty of local shopping and dining, recreational opportunities and excellent schools.
Westfield's relatively new parks system is growing rapidly, with four parks offering picnic areas and playgrounds. Two new parks with facilities for youth sports are in the planning stages, and two of the town's existing parks are receiving major upgrades. The Natalie Wheeler Trail and the Midland Trail meander through town, and the Monon Trail will be extended through Westfield in 2007.

Living in Westfield is very affordable, with a variety of residential options, including starter homes, larger custom homes, townhomes, golf communities and condominiums.
Students here attend Westfield Washington Schools, which regularly rank higher than the state average on standardized tests. The district serves more than 5,000 students through four elementary schools, an intermediate school, a middle school and high school. Westfield is also home to Union Bible College and a satellite campus for Ball State University.
