These last few days in Indianapolis have no doubt been chaotic.   With the worst winter storm we have seen this year, schools have been shut down, workers have been sent home early, and the roads where we usually sit in traffic have been empty.  With the worst of the ice and snow behind us, government and emergency personnel can now focus on recovering.  Although the worst is behind us, many schools are still closed, roads are still not cleared, and several people are still without power.  As well have all experienced inconveniences because of the winter storm, the Indiana Blood Center has had to cancel 19 blood drives this past week scheduled throughout Indiana.  With so many cancellations this week due to weather conditions, the blood center is down almost 800 donations.  As the city does its part to get Indianapolis schools and roads back to normal, let us all do our part and give blood this weekend and help return the blood supply to normal!

Want to help give blood this weekend but don’t know where to go?  The donor centers will be open all weekend with normal business hours, and have also scheduled mobile blood drives located in several convenient areas.  Get to your local center this weekend and help those in need!

Donor Centers will be open this weekend Friday, February 4th from 7am-4pm, Saturday, and February 5th from 8am-2pm.  Mobile blood drive times may vary this weekend, so visit DonorPoint.org for hours and details.
