Indianapolis residents, along with race fans from all over the country have gathered at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in order to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the Indianapolis 500.  Although fans have been at the track for numerous events throughout the last week, including Pole Day, Bump Day, and Community Day, today marks the official start of the race weekend!  Fans from all over the country, including our own Indianapolis residents from all over will be spending their Memorial Day Weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. 

Friday, May 27, known as Miller Lite Carb Day, is one of the most popular days at the track.  Race fans gather for the final practice before the official race on Sunday.  Other events on Carb Day include the pit stop competition sponsored by IZOD, as well as the Miller Lite Carb Day concert on the Miller Lite Stage.

Saturday, May 28th is dedicated to A.J Foyt.   Although this is the final day before the official start of the Indianapolis 500, there is still many activities going on at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  This day honors A.J. Foyt with not only autographs, but a Question and answer section as well. 

Sunday, May 29th is the day we have all been waiting for.  The day race fans from not only Indianapolis, Indiana, but all over the country have showed up to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to celebrate the most important race in history.  The race will begin at 12:00 as 33 drivers compete to take the famous checkered flag! 

The Indianapolis 500 is a major event, and what better way to spend your memorial day weekend with family and friends, so get out to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend for  100th Anniversary of the world famous Indy 500.
